Objective: To explore the branches, distribution and anastomosis of the spinal segmental nutrient arteries in the intervertebral foramen and vertebral canal by the method of latex artery injection and TA-Fe, and to provide anatomical materials and data for preventing of the diseases of the spinal cord caused by the damage of the spinal segmental nutrient arteries in clinic. Methods1 Fifteen adult trunk specimens, regardless of sex, were applied in this study. The red-colored latex was injected into the T1-L5 segmental nutrient arteries of the specimens. The distribution and anastomosis of the segmental arteries outside the vertebral canal were observed at first. After removal of the vertebral bodies and discs from T1 to L5, the distribution and anastomosis of the segmental arteries in the intervertebral foramen and anterior part of the vertebral canal were dissected. The origin of the spinal branch arteries was observed and the length before they passed through the dura mater was measured. Then removed the spinal cord and the posterior part of the vertebral canal was exposed for showing the distribution and...
