Studies On The Chemical Constituents Of Croton Caudatus Geisel.var. Tomentosus Hook.

The stem and leaf of Croton caudatus Geisel. var. tomentosus Hook (Euphorbiaceae) have been used as traditional medicines in Dai Nationality. No phytochemical and pharmacological research has been reported on this plant. The chemical constituents of Croton caudatus Geisel. var. tomentosus Hook were investigated for the first time in this thesis and 29 compounds were isolated from the 95% EtOH extract of its stem. Based on the spectral analysis (¹HNMR, ¹³CNMR, HMQC, HMBC, EI-MS, ESI-MS), their structure were identified as Crocaudatol(CC-l), Oplopanone(CC-2), Syringaresinol(CC-3), Zheberiesinol(CC-4), Medioresinol(CC-5), Pinoresinol(CC-6). threo-2,3-bis-(4-Hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-3-methoxy-1 -propanol) (CC-7), erythro-l,2-bis-(4-Hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-propane-l,3-diol (CC-8), (24R)- 5 a-Stigmast-3,6-dione(CC-9), Stigmasta-22-ene-3,6-dione (CC-10), β-Sitosterol (CC-11), (24S)-Stigmast-3β,5α,6β-triol(CC-12), β-Daucosterol( CC-13), β-Sitosterol acetate(CC-14), 3β-Hydroxystigmast-5-en-7-one (CC-15), 7-oxo-β-Stigmasterol (CC-16), 7α-Hydroxysitosterol(CC-17), Stigmast-5,22-diene-3β,7α-diol(CC-18), 7β-Hydroxysitosterol(CC-19), Stigmast-5,22-diene-3β 7β-diol(CC-20), Kaempferol(CC-21), Tiliroside(CC-22), Vanillic acid (CC-23), Vanillin(CC-24), Succinic acid(CC-25), Palmic acid(CC-26), Stearic acid(CC-27), Octacosanoic acid(CC-28), ethyl ester of Hexatriacontanoic acid(CC-29), respectively.
