| ObjectiveTo explore the present mental status of inpatients in general hospital, and the related factors. Study pathogenesis of inpatients'mental disorder from"psychological"and"physical", to turn our medical pattern to care patients, not illness, and prevent them from illness.MethodsThe questionnaire data of 585 inpatients in general hospital was analyzed with statistical methods. The mental status of the inpatients was assessed with symptom check list 90 (SCL-90), life event scale (LES), Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ), the sickness impact profile (SIP), and self-made questionnaire, and the domestic norm as control in SCL-90. The data was analyzed by t-test, logistic multiple regressive analysis and Pearson correlated analysis.Results1. The scores of 11 factors, which include total scores, the number of positive or negative factors, somatization, hostility, depression, anxiety, obsessive, interpersonal sensitivity, photicanxiety, paranoed ideation and psychoticsm of inpatients in general hospital were higher than common people significantly (t=6.108~18.677, P=0.000). The incidences of those symptoms are list hereinafter: 34.4%, 33.0%, 31.8%, 30.1%, 29.9%, 24.7%, 18.0%, 17.4% and 14.5%.2. According to the incidences of mental disorders in general hospital departments, the descending order was: chest surgery, department of dermatology, department of hematological, department of endocrine, department of digestion, department of ophthalmology, department of cordis, department of nervous system, department of kidney, department of cerebral surgery, department of tumor, department of orthopedics, department of respiratory apparatus, urinary surgery, general surgery, cardiac surgery, ear nose throat department, department of gynecology and obstetrics(p<0.01).
