LH is the gonadotropin secreted by ALH, having a important role on folliculogenesis, ovulation and steroidogenesis. And it has close relation to ART, too. It is well-known that if located the environment of high LH concentration, the follicles will stop growing or become abnormal mature leading to abnormal fertilization because of early LH surge. Now, the general protocol of COH often is down-regulation treatment with GnRH agonist during mid-luteal phase which suppress the endogenous LH secretion so as to avoid the early LH surge. However, there are some debates on the issue wherever or not it can affect the follicular growth and maturation ad furthermore the outcome of IVF or ICSI when the pituitary function is profound suppressed and too low LH concentration is resting after a prolonged GnRH agonist treatment. Objective: To assess the usefulness of serum LH as a predictor of ovarian response and pregnancy outcome through retrospective study the relation between LH concentration on day before ovarian stimulation un- der pituitary suppression and outcome of IVF/ICSI. Meanwhile, it is also studied wherever or not it has effect on outcome when exogenous LH are added during the process of COH.Methods: The subjects of this retrospective study were 264 infertile patients who received 331 cycles of IVF/ ICSI in our department. Upper age limit of the women was 40 years; patients with body mass index(BMI)>30kg/m2 were excluded; the patients must have normal endoctrine and...
