Purpose This study was designed to evaluate the changes of myocardial protection after surgery on beating heart and arrested heart during correction of congenital heart diseases, which also intensively investigate the changes of myocardial protection after surgery on beating heart and arrested heart. Recently, the value of heart fatty acid binding protein (H-FABP) and cardiac troponin I (cTnI)had regarded as myocardial damage markers. The influence on myocardial damage after the two types of open-heart surgery was evaluated and the two markers (H-FABP and cTnI) in pre-opration and post-opration were compared . Methods 30 consecutive patients with atrial septul defect (II type), undergoing correction of cardiac defects were enrolled and divided into two groups randomly.
