Aim: In our research, we measure the metabolites of the collagen type I, the BMD and the biomechanical property in ovariectomized rats, to find the changes and the correlation of the indexes in the model, and to discuss the correlation of the collagen type I and the development of osteoporosis. At the same time, we treate the osteoporosis rats using the salmon calcitonin see calcimar and the estrogenic hormone, to determine the therapeutic effect by different therapeusis and the contribution to the collagen type I. Through our research, we expect that we could find a new evidence and method in the prevention and treatment to the osteoporosis. Materials and Methods: Normal 60 nullimating female 7 month SD rats are divided randomly to four groups, each which includes 15 SD rats in different cages. A: the sham group; B: the OVX group; C: the estrogen group; D: the CT group. The group A is the shamed operation one which is adipoectomized after abdominal cavity anaesthesia and then to be sewed up. The other groups are ovariectomized after abdominal cavity anaesthesia. All the groups are prevented infection using antibiotics 5 days and raised with the normal standard diet. The group C is treated with estrogenic hormone, Benzogynestry, through hypodermic injection. The group D is treated with salmon calcitonin, Miacalcic, through hypodermic injection. To execute the rats after 12 weeks, we get the L5 vertebrae from the rat body, and then detect the biomechanical property such as the max condensing force, Young's modulus and crushing strength...
