Modified An'ermian granules, which are usually used to treat insomnia, are explored systemically in this paper. Firstly, the extraction process of modified An'ermian granules was optimized using orthogonal experimental design. Herbal drugs composed of this preparation were identified by TLC and the determining method of salvianolic acid B was established. In addition, the quality standard of An'ermian granules was drawn up, and the stability of An'ermian granules was studied. Results of pharmacodynamics and toxicology showed that the preparation developed has evidently effect of inhibiting action on central nervous system and has no side effect.
