Objective:To investigate the therapeutic effects and side effects of Suspension of tri-iron tetroxide microspheres and pingyangmycin and lipiodol(STMPL) to treat carvernous hprofenongioma of liver(CHL) with artery vein shunt(AVS) by Transcatheter arterial embolization(TAE).Methods:Forty four patients with CHLs were diagnosed by US ,CT and DSA before operation, supplying artery , location , size , numbers of the tumors were diagnosed by DSA during operation. There were twenty three patients in one group with artery vein shunt(shunt group), twenty one patients have no artery vein shunt in another group(non- shunt group). All patients were treated with STMPL by transcatheter arterial embolization.A catheter was selectively inserted into the hepatic artery via the femoral artery ,and digital subtraction angiography was performed to confirm the diagnosis.superselective catheterization was accomplished in all patiens. Follow-up examinations with US ,CT and DSA were carried out from 1 to 12 months after embolization in all patiens, and the changes in size of the CHLs were recorded. The changes concerning ,symptoms ,complications, and liver function including aspartate aminotransferase(ALT), albumin(ALB), total bilirubin(TBIL) were recorded in the follow-up date. Results: 1. Display rate of AVS on CT was 4.8%(two patiens), display rate of AVS on...
