Objective:To investigate the association of the G894T polymorphism of endothelial nitric oxide synthase(eNOS) gene with artery compliance in Da Lian population. Methods: 100 untreated hypertensive subject and 100 normotensive subjects with age 40 and 65 years consent to take apart in this study.Absence of secondary forms of hypertension, subjects with a history of cardiac or hepatic, diabetes were excluded,no symptoms of heart failure, stroke and lower-linber artial disease.Genotypes of endothelial nitric oxide synthase were determined by polymerase chain reaction-based restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis. By using CVProfilerDO-2020,arterial compliance, systolic blood pressure(SBP), diastolic blood pressure(DBP), pulse rate(PR) of all subjects were measured.Results:(1)The frequencies of T allele and GT+TT genotype of eNOS gene in EH were significantly higher than those in normotensive group.(2) Age,BMI,SBP,DBP of eNOS GT+TT genotype were no significantly higher than those in hypertensive and normotensive subjects.(3) We found no association of the endothelial nitric oxide synthase genotypes with big artery compliance in hypertensive and normotensive subjects, which had converse results with small artery compliance. Conclusions:The G894T plolymorphism of eNOS gene is associated with small artery compliance in DaLian population. T allele may be involved in the regulation of small artery compliance by reducing NO release of endothelium or influencing its activity.
