Background: According to the modern medicine, diabetes mellitus was a kind ofinflammation disease. There were relation intimately among Inflammatory reaction anddiabetes mellitus and chronicity vascular complication. Phlegmatic hygrosis was importantpathology foundation of diabetes mellitus and chronicity vascular complication. Throuh theclinic and the empirical study, it was founded that a great deal of diabetices appearancedphlegmatic hygrosiso But now there was not have the study on dependablity betweenphlegmatic hygrosis syndrome of diabetes mellitus and nflammatory reaction. Objective: To study the relation between dependablity between phlegmatic hygrosissyndrome of type 2 diabetes mellitus and C-reactive protein.Materials and methods: According to the WHO diagnosis criteria and the TCM differentia-tion criteria, We selected 60 type 2 diabetes mellitus patients as research objects(27 maleand 33 female). The average age was 59.60±5.64 years old. The process of disease is 7.48±3.59 years. 34 cases were vascular com-plications or with vascular disease (VC),26 caseswere non-vascular complications or with vascular disease (NVC). Of the 60 cases, 33 caseswere phlegmatic hygrosis syndrome, 27 cases were non-phlegmatic hygrosis syndrome.Healthy people (16 male and 14 female) were taken as the control group, the average age is50.31±5.44 years old. After the patients were brought into the research team, the clinicalsymptom was told by the patients themselves first, and was graded by doctor according tosymptom severity, then deceided the chinese medicine differentiation according to the differentiation criteria. At the same time, the patients were examined the targets as below:the blood sugar determination used glucose oxidase method; the blood-fat determination usedenzymic method; the Insulin used chemiluminesc-ence method; the body mass index(BMI)used the body ratio between weight and the height, and calculated the insulinresistance index HOMA-IR=FPGxFINS/22.5 by HOMA model, the CRP used scatteringturbidity method。Results:1. Compared with the normal group, the CRP of type 2 diabetes mellitus was significantlyhigher (P<0.01),the level of TG,TC were both higher (P<0.01), the level of HDL-C waslower(P<0.01); Compared with the normal group the BMI of type 2 diabetes mellitus wassignificantly higher (P<0.01), the level of HOMA-IR was higher (P<0.01)。2.Compares with non-phlegmatic hygrosis syndrome, the CRP and BMI of phlegmatichygrosis syndrome groop were significantly higher (P<0.01); the level of TG,TC,FPG,HOMA-IR were both higher (P<0.01)。3.The occurance of phlegmatic hygrosis syndrome in VC was higher than that in NVC(P<0.05)。4. The CRP was closely positive correlated to BMI,TG,HOMA-IR (P<0.01) and negativecorrelated to HDL—C(P<0.01), but not related with age and course of disease oConclusion:1.There are intimate relation between TCM phlegmatic hygrosis syndrome and C-reactiveprotein as marker of Inflammatory reaction, It implies that vascular chronic inflammationstatus of T2DM is possiblely pathology essence of phlegmatic hygrosis syndrome.2.The higher BMI,TC,TG,HOMA-IR and the lower HDL—C maybe as the parts ofpathology essence in hygrosis syndrome3.Phlegmatic hygrosis is possiblely the important etiopathogenisis of vascular complicationsin T2DM or with vascular disease.4. In the course of diabetes mellitus, patients have the pathology tendency of phlegmatichygrosis syndrome. When with vascular complications the pathology tendency is pronouncedmore。It implies that the treatment might use the method of eliminating phlegm and dissipate phlegm, it should be essential therapeutics...
