Objective: To study the effect of reconstruction with to treat foracute gradeⅢinjury of the medial collateral ligament(MCL), researchthe method to treat the acute gradeⅢinjury of the medial collateralligament in clinic.Methods: Twenty-nine ripe New Zealand rabbit were used in thisstudy. Medial collateral ligament(MCL) of two knee joints werecompletely incised and besides pose a 2mm wide gap to create owncontrol model of MCL acute gradeⅢinjury in twenty-four rabbits,therest were seleced as normal specimens in biomechanics testing andhistological examination.The operation intimated the procedure of humanbeing MCL reconstruction with hamstring,but control group hadn't thistreatment.Every 6 animals were enthanised as scheduled groups 6, 12,18,24 weeks at postoperation with an overdose of sodium pentobarbital.Weobserve the process of segmentation healing with anatomy, and usehistological section to observe the type and alignment of collagen in thescar ,then biomechanical ,stress relaxation, creeping, tensile testing.Results: 1.Histological section: the density and modality ofcollagenic arrangement in experiment group are all eralier and betterthan in control group. 2.Biomechanical testing:(1) stress relaxation:On6weeks, the maximum stress relaxation rate of experiment group are greater than control group, difference has significance(P<0.05); On12,18,24 weeks, the maximum stress relaxation rate of experiment groupare little greater than control group, but it hasn't significance(P>0.05);(2)creep rate: On 6,12,18,24weeks ,the maximum creep rate of experimentgroup is greater than control group, difference has significance(P<0.05),On 24weeks, the maximum creep rate of experiment group are greaterthan normal group , difference has significance(P<0.05);(3) tensiletesting: On 6,12,18,24weeks ,the maximum load of failure of experimentgroup is significantly greater than control group, difference hassignificance (P<0.05); and both smaller than mormal group even on24week(P<0.05);Conclusions: 1. insertion constructure and Biomachanical propertyare superior to control group;2. pristine reconstruction withsemitendinous tendon (ST)can improve the quality of MCL's earlymetaphase healing;3. Both tendon graft and the healing MCL withexpectant treatment after 24weeks hasn't normal biomachanical propertyand insertion constructure.
