AIM:1.To investigate insulin resistance state and analyze the function of relative influential factors of insulin resistance by comparing insulin resistance index and relative influential factors of insulin resistance in Kazaks and Hans.2. To study the funcation of insulin resistance in originate of essential hypertension (EH )in Kazaks. Methods:A total of 121 Kazak subjects were recruited and 121 age, body mass index(BMI),blood pressure, gender matched Han control subjects were joined. Both Han and Kazak subjects were all divided into health group and hypertensive group. Body mass index(BMI),waist/hip ratio(WHR),the triglyceride(TG),the total cholesterol(TC),the low-density lipoprotein(LDL),the high-density lipoprotein(HDL),fasting glucose(FBG),fasting insulin(FINS),leptin(LP) were measured in all cases. Homeostasis model was adopted to assess insulin resistance index (HOMA-IR). Linear correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were adopted to analyze the correlation between insulin resistance and these factors in Kazaks. RESULT:1. The level of HOMA-IR and FINS in the Kazak subjects(including health group and hypertensive group)were significantly higher than these in Han subjects(including health group and hypertensive group) (P<0.001), but the level of WHR,TG,TC,LDL,HDL and LP were not different between Kazak subjects and Han subjects(P>0.05). 2. The comparison between Kazak'groups and Han'groups:(1) In the health group: The level of HOMA-IR and FINS in the Kazak healthy subjects were significant ly higher than these in Han healthy subjects(P<0.01); but the level of WHR,TC,TG,LDL,HDL and LP were not different between Kazak healthy subjects and Han healthy subjects(P>0.05).(2) In the hypertensive group: The level of HOMA-IR and FINS in the Kazak hypertensive subjects were significantly higher than these in Han hypertensive subjects(P<0.01);but the level of WHR,TC,TG,LDL,HDL,LP were not different between Kazak hypertensive subjects and Han hypertensive subjects(P>0.05); 3. Shown by linear correlation analysis: In Kazaks, systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),BMI,WHR,TG,TC,LDL and LP were in positive correlation with HOMA-IR, HDL was no correlation with HOMA-IR; In Hans, SBP,DBP,BMI,WHR,TG and LP were all in positive correlation with HOMA-IR,HDL,LDL and TC were no correlation with HOMA-IR.4. Shown by multiple regression analysis: In Kazaks, more important affecting factors of insulin resistance were BMI and TG;In the Hans, more important affecting factors of insulin resistance were WHR and TG.CONCLUSION:1. The level of insulin resistance in Kazaks was significantly higher than that in Hans;Insulin resistance existed national difference between Kazaks and Hans. 2. In the Kazaks, more important affecting factors of insulin resistance were BMI and TG;In the Hans, more important affecting factors of insulin resistance were WHR and TG. 3. It is suggested that insulin resistance may be an important motive force in the originate of essential hypertension.
