With the widely application of the computer and the development of information technology, the research on the hospital information system (HIS) has become an important way to improve the medical environment, medical levels and administrative levels. As the basic component of the HIS, the electrical medical record (EMR) stores all the medical information, including images and texts, and makes them used more effectively. It plays more and more important roles in medical, research, education and hospital management. As an inevitable trend of Hospital information process, EMR has an irreplaceable practical significance.The lung cancer is the common disease which threatens the human life, and needs long-term tracing observation of curative effect. After making a follow-up visit may obtain the lung cancer patient information, including the survival situation after leaving hospital, the forward curative effect, comparisons of clinical practice effect of various kind of treatment plans as well as the recur and shift of lung cancer, which provide quick and reliable material for clinical medical service, teaching, scientific research. However, the traditional follow-up visit method has already not to adapt the modernized hospital information management system. Therefore, how to make a follow-up visit organically combining the traditional medical service with the modern electronic medical record, and speed up the hospital information management procedure is the most important question that needs to solve urgently.The present paper has developed the lung cancer patient electron medical record and the follow-up visit medical service system, which proceeding with the concept, the correlation background and the application value of electronic medical record, and combining with the present situation analysis and medical care personnel's demand. This system is designed using Visual the FoxPro 8.0 databases programming language which has mature technology and simple operation in the present stage. The functional module and program codes of the follow-up visit medical service system are introduced in detail in the present paper.
