Therapeutic Effect Of Using Electropuncture At Qiuxupoint On Migraine

Objective: Migraine is a kind of periodical headache, At present, the current medicine hasn't an effective method to heal thoroughly. But, acupuncture and moxibustion have the characteristics of ease pain. Now, doctors often choose acupuncture to cure migraine. Though, the most acupuncture points they choose are the points that around the pain points and that often be used by doctors. It isn't always reported that using Qiuxupoint– Danchannel's source point to cure the migraine. My tutor had reported that it could achieve an satisfied curative effect to take Qiuxupoint with the acupuncture techniques of'long hu jiao zhan'. In order to reduce or delete the patients'pains and to improve their life quality, my tutor undertook a part of the clinical test that is《Points Discovery》of State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine–《Therapeutic effect of using electropuncture at Qiuxupoint on migraine》. It put that we could take the electropuncture at Qiuxupoint to cure migraine. The study can provide the clinical bases for acupuncture points'using, to make the clinical techniques of choosing points more, even to provide the clinical study bases of Qiuxupoint's curing migraine for《PRC Acupuncture and Moxibustion Points Discovery》. Method: According with the diagnosis criteria made by Intenational Headache Society, at the same time, according as the staging of headache and the inclusion criteria and the exclusion criteria of《Clinical study principle on new herb curing migraine》enacted by State Drug Administration, we selected 92 patients as the samples. About these samples, we took the method of completely randomized design. According to the patients'examination orders, we gave them every a number. Then we devided them into two groups according to the randomized number list. One was the test group, another was the comparative group. There was 46 samples every group. We chose the group of Qiuxupoint as the test group, and the group of Tianshupoint as the comparative group. The therapeutic technique both groups chose was the same. That was electroacupuncture at the acupuncture points, half hour every time, one time everyday, five days as a period, a period every two days. And it needed four periods. Before the cure, we wrote down the patients'basic cases on the forms, such as name,sex,age,birthday,job,medical history,clan history,telephone and so on. Also these, for example, the eyesight,the result of eye bottom examination,the menstruation case,the relations with menstruation and tension,emotion and the tired were recorded in the forms. At the same time, we collected the vein blood and prepared for testing the level of 5-Ht of blood plasma. During the cure, we took the VAS (visual analogue scale) as the observation index of the instant ease pain effect, and took the pain degree,the time it lasted,the times it happened,the symptoms it accompanied as the observation signs of the periodical ease pain effect. Then we gave it a score according with the Sun's criteria. Samely, we observed the patients closely, and recorded the accidents at any time. After the first puncture, we recorded the patients'case in the forms. After finishing the cure, we visited him or her to record the cases in the fourth weeks after the first cure, and in three months,in six months. When we visited them in three months, we also collected the patients'vein blood and prepared for examining the level of 5-Ht of blood plasma. At last, we studied every clinical symptoms index and the datum of 5-Ht of blood plasma which were the datum of the test group and the comparative group before the cure and after. Then we concluded all the datum. Although we did all these, it wasn't over. We had to analyse the datum. But how? First, we tookα=0.05 as the significance level of hypothesis test, and took two-sided test to compare. Second, we took X2-test,t-test and Wilcoxon signed-rank test to have statistical analysis with statistical software of SPSS11.5. Untill now, we could verifided that electropuncture at Qiuxupoint on migraine is effective on the clinic.Results: The balance-test's resoult of patients'sex and age for two groups are P>0.05,they have no significant difference. The analysis resoult of the two groups'patients'case before cure is P>0.05, it has no significant difference. The analysis resoult of the two groups'patients'pain degree before cure is P>0.05, it has no significant difference. The analysis resoult of the two groups'patients'course of disease before cure is P>0.05, it has no significant difference. The analysis resoult of the two groups'patients'level of 5-Ht of blood plasma before cure is P>0.05, it has no significant difference. The analysis resoult of the two groups'patients'effect of VAS is P>0.05, it has no significant difference. The analysis resoult of the two groups'patients'cure effect in four weeks is P<0.05, it has significant difference , the test group's cure effect is better. The analysis resoult of the two groups'patients'cure effect in three months is P<0.05, it has significant difference, the test group's cure effect is better. The analysis resoult of the two groups'patients'cure effect in six mongths is P<0.05, it has significant difference, the test group's cure effect is better. The analysis resoult of the Qiuxu group's patients'level of 5-Ht of blood plasma before cure and in three months is P<0.05, it has significant difference. The analysis resoult of the two groups'patients'level of 5-Ht of blood plasma in three mongths is P<0.05, it has significant difference, the test group's level is higher than the comparative group's. The analysis resoult of the Tianshu group's patients'effect of instant ease pain before the first cure and after is P<0.05, it has significant difference. The analysis resoult of the Tianshu group's patients'level of 5-Ht of blood plasma before cure and in three months is P<0.05, it has significant difference. The analysis resoult of the two group's patients'chance of unwell is P>0.05, it has no significant difference. Conclusions:1 There is a significant difference in instant ease pain effect of Qiuxupoint's therapy on migraine, the test group's cure effect is better than the comparative group's .2 There is a significant difference in ease pain effect of the fourth weeks after the first Qiuxupoint's puncturing cure, the test group's cure effect is better than the comparative group's. There is a significant difference in ease pain effect of the sthird month after Qiuxupoint's puncturing cure, the test group's cure effect is better than the comparative group's. There is a significant difference in ease pain effect of the sixth month after Qiuxupoint's puncturing cure, the test group's cure effect is better than the comparative group's .3 There is a significant difference in the level of 5-Ht of blood plasma before cure and on the third month after electropuncture at Qiuxupoint, the level of the third month is higher than before.4 There is a significant difference in the level of 5-Ht of blood plasma on the third month after electropuncture at Qiuxupoint and Tianshupoint, the test group's level is higher than the comparative group's.5 There is a significant difference in instant ease pain effect before electropuncture at Tianshupoint compared with the effect after. The effect before the cure is better.6 For the Tianshu group, there is a significant difference in the level of 5-Ht of blood plasma before the cure compared with the level in three months after the cure. The level in three months after the cure is higher than the level before the cure.7 There is no significant difference in the two group's patients'chance of unwell, the method of electropuncture at Qiuxupoint and Tianshupoint is safe.In a word, the therapy that the electropuncture at Qiuxu -point to cure the migraine is an effective one.And the therapy that the electropuncture at Tianshupoint to cure the migraine is also an effective one,especially for the migraine with headache.
