Virus is a dangerous microbe, many fearful illness were caused byvirus. Searching for high antivirus drug is becoming more and moreimportant. Altemanthera philoxeroides(Mart)Griseb, has been provedwith strong, antivirus effect. The purpose of this research is to analysischemical constitutes and discover activity part.Objective: To study the chemical constitutes and antivirus activity ofAltemanthera philoxeroides(Mart)Griseb. Method: The constituents wereisolated with normal & reversed phase silical chromatography, gelfiltration chromatography, preparative thin layer chromatography and highpreparative liquid chromatography. Their structures were elucidated byspectroscopy. Result: Seven compounds were isolated and identified ascycloeucalenol (Ⅰ),β-sitosterol (Ⅱ),α-spinasterol (Ⅲ), oleanoic acid(Ⅳ),α-spinasteryl-7,22- dien-3-O-β-D-glucopyra-noside (Ⅴ), daucoster(Ⅵ). 3-O-β-D-glucuronyl-30-demethyl-12,20(29) -dien-oleano-lic acid-28-O-β-D-glucosate (Ⅶ). n-Butanol part had an anti flu virus effect.Conclusion: CompoundⅤwas isolated from this plant for the first time,n-Butanol part was an effective part.
