ATP-TCA And Expression Of Bcl-xl In Human Transitional Cell Carcinoma Of The Bladder

Background and objective Transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder is the most common malignant tumor of urinary system.The incidence of transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder is upgrading gradually in our country recently.The biological behaviors of transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder is complicated and diversify,besides,it is easily to plant and recurrence.The existing therapeutic approachs of transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder includes early operation and post-operation irrigation of bladder.However the recurrence rate of transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder after irrigation is still disappointed.Multi-drugs were used for irrigation,but,the sensitive of drug is distinct because of individual.How to choose a more sensitive drug to individualized treatment is the destination investigation of us.There are some kinds of drug sensitivity test of tumor cell,the most common use is ATP-TCA(ATP-tumor chemosensitivity assay),and it is to be considered the most selection.Large prospective study is being carried out.The objective of this study was to investigate the post-operation of transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder to in progress of ATP-TCA,giving individualized treatment according to the drug sensitivity.Simultaneously.the expression of bcl-xl was assessed by immunohistochemistry on 45 transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder(contain 19 sample which have investigate by drug sensitivity),and to investigate the relationship of bcl-xl and multi-drug resistant.By this to give theoretical guidance to the diagnosis,individualized treatment,prognosis and monitoring the recrudescence of transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder.Material and method forty-five cases of transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder was selected from patients who had treatment in department of urology,The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University in the period of years from 2002 to 2006.The diagnosis of all selected cases had been confirmed through pathology examination.19 cases were random select to test by ATP-TCA, and giving individualized treatment according to the drug sensitivity.The progression of disease was followed up.Simultaneous,the expression of bcl-xl of all the cases were assessed by immunohistochemistry.The data was analysis by chi-square,correlation analysis and so on.The analysis was done by SPSS version 13.0 software.Result(1)The recurrence rate of ATP-TCA group and control group were 10.53%(2/19)and 38.46%(10/26),the recurrence rate have significant difference(P＜0.05).(2)There as a significant correlation between the multi-drug resistant and the expression of bcl-xl in the group of ATP-TCA(P＜0.05).Conclusion(1)Individualized treatment after test with ATP-TCA can diminish the recurrence rate.(2)The expression of bcl-xl has a significant correlation with the multi-drug resistant.
