Objectives: To investigate the influences on variation of microcirculation, bioelectricity, monoamine neurotransmitter and other biochemical substances and the regulating effectsof electroacupuncture of Zusanli on gastrointestinal dysfunction, in the experimental modelrat. Methods: The real time microcirculatory blood flow was observed with a laserdoppler blood flow monitor in the surface of stomach, intestine, liver and brain and thebio-electrical feature of stomach and intestine were detected with multitrack polygraph, inthe experimental model rat with gastrointestinal dysfunction. The monoamineneurotransmitter and other biochemical substances in the blood and tissues such as MTL,GAS, ET, DA,5-HT, E and NE were analysed with the methods of radioimmunity(RI)and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) Results: After electroacupuncturingon Zusanli, the Microcirculatory blood flow increased evidently and remained at a relativehigh level after the electroacupuncture; the bioelectricity's frequency increased, whenamplitude decreased in some groups of the model rats; the MTL level can be raised inblood, stomach and brain of pathology-instant stimulating group; the GAS in blood, intestine, brain and stomach of pathology-prior stimulating group and the E inhypothalamus can be increased evidentty; the ET in blood plasma of physiotogy and pathologygroups and the HT-5 in serum of physiology -instant stimulating group can be decreasedevidently. Conclusion: Microcirculation, bioelectricity, monoamine neurotransmitter andother biochemical indexes of the experimental rat model of gastrointestinal dysfunction areeffectively regulated by electroacupuncture on Zusanli. It is concluded that the electroacupuncture plays a positive role in the treatment for gastrointestinal dysfunction. We illustrated the affinity between Zusanli and gastrointestinal system with the systemresearch method of "one point to multi-viscera organs" and supported the research ofdiscipline of relationship between acupuncture points and viscera with plenty related datainformation...
