OBJECTIVEThrough learning about the recognition on medication safe and prehension on dispensatory in pregnant women and puerperant, to analyze and study the requirement of pregnant women and puerperant for pharmaceutical care, promoting the progress of hospital pharmacy and ensuring medication safe of pregnant women and puerperant.Pharmaceutical care is the care that the pharmacists provide intimate,responsible and medication-related informations for the public, utilizing pharmacy specialized knowledge. Pharmaceutical care takes the patients as the center, pays great attention to the care of the concern and promotes reasonable, safe medication in patients. At present, the unreasonable phenomenon in medicine is serious, all kinds of shocking drug-induced sufferings event sometimes occur. With the progress of society, consciousness on medicine health care is gradually enhanced, especially with the birthcontrol policy extending in China and self-health care consciousness improving in pregnancy and lactation. It is inevitable for an woman to take medicine in a two-year period from pregnancy prepare to lactations, and medicine use during pregnancy not only influences women themselves, but also is directly related to their fetus and infants, which is inseparable with the national population quality. Therefore we should pay attention to the medicine use of pregnant women and puerperants, provide more services to them, improve life quality of mothers and their children, which is important in promoting society development and harmony.The dispensatory of a drug is approved by State Food and Drug Administration and provided by manufacturer, including data, conclusions and related informations of pharmacy and medicine, as a mainstay on rational medication for doctors and patients, especially for certain special population such as pregnant and breast-feeding women, complete and clarified dispensatory can guide medication and ensure medication safe. The medication safety in pregnant women and puerperants is directly influenced by prehension degree to dispensatory, which is worth paying close attention to.METHODS1. "Medication information questionnaires", "Prehension ability to dispensatory questionnaires" and an extent visit were designed to investigate the medication in pregnant women and puerperants.2. 300 pregnant women and puerperants were received questionnaires and not less than 20 minutes visits visited in Weihai Women and Children's Hospital during Jan. 2007-Aug 2007, to investigate the requirement of pregnant women and puerperants on medication.3.Investigation data was handled statisticly with software SPSS 13.0.RESULTS1 Some pregnant women and puerperants have taken medicine during pregnancy and lactation, and haven't understaken some knowledge, for example, drug allergy, drug side effect, special population, etc; There were conditions of increasing dosage or changing a drug for another without consulting physician; The medicine of pregnant women and puerperants were influenced by medical insurance pattern, education degree, occupation, etc.2 Pregnant women and puerperants could understand part of dispensatory, but not to understand specialized knowledge well, for instance,drug strength, drug indication, drug interaction, as well as OTC and Rx drugs.3.There were some questions in medication of pregnant women and puerperants, they had many requirement for pharmaceutical care.CONCLUSIONThere are dangerous factors in medication of pregnant women and puerperants, there are defects in dispensatory in force and pregnant women and puerperants have requirements for pharmaceutical care, so pharmacists should launch pharmaceutical care positively, provid consulation, improve consciousness in medication safe and direct rational medication.
