Objective:To study the chromosome aberration effect of low—dose occupational radiation exposure in medical X—ray workers. Methods:Study on the chromosome aberration and its effecting factor in medical X-ray workers of Hongkou district in Shanghai by descriptive study.Result:1.The rate of aberrant cells was 0.464%in the radiation exposed group.Compared with the controlled group, there was a very significant difference(p<0.01).In the radiation exposed group, some indexes such as dicentric chromosome aberration, acenitic chromosome aberration, cell aberration, chromatid aberration also very significantly increased(p<0.05)than in the controlled group. There were no effect in chromosome aberration of gender, age and smoking in the radiation exposed group. There was no significant difference among three work years groups of the rate of dicentric and ring chromosome aberration, acenitic chromosome aberration, cell aberration. But chromatid aberration was the highest in the workers 10~29 years than other groups, there was significant difference (p<0.05).2.The rate of chromosome aberration increased with the increase of the accumulate radiation doses of five years in the radiation exposed group. The rate of acentric chromosome aberration was 0.448%,the rate of cell aberration was 0.586%, the rate of chromatid aberration was 1.241%in the highest dose group. There was significant difference(p<0.01).3.The rate of sicken of two weeks was 8.26%in the radiation exposed group and 1.49%in the controlled group. There was significant difference(p<0.05 )between them. The rate of cold of one year were 78.26%in the radiation exposed group and 56.72%in the controlled group. There was significant difference (p<0.01) between them.4.There was not a relationship between chromosome aberration and Hb,RBC,WBC,PLT(p>0.05)in the radiation exposed group. Conclusion Long—term low-dose radiation exposure is the risk factor of the chromosome aberration. The chromosome aberration increase with the accumulate radiation doses increasing in five years. So the occupational radiation protection should be tightened on in the medical X-ray workers.
