Herba Erigerontis and its preparation were widely used to treatment of heart cerebrovascular diseases, nephopathy and others in the clinic. To make the quality control, this thesis established its fingerprinting spectrum, and confirmed the adscription of the chomatogram peaks.Using HPLC the contents of scutellarin in Herba Erigerontis were mensurated. Scutellarin contents of whole plants collected from different regions varied in the range of 0.456% to 1.034%. Scutellarin contents varied in different collected seasons and the plants collected in Augest had the highest content of 0.849%. Leaf and flower had the highest content, 1.207% and 1.135%. Then, stem had the higher content of 0.658%. Root had the lowest content of 0.106%.The detecting method and fingerprinting spectrum of Herba Erigerontis establish. Different conditions were tested with HPLC, and determined. The chomatographic column was Agilent Zorbax C18 (5μm, 250mm×4.6mm) and the detection wavelength was 335nm, the mobile phase was acetonitrile-tetrahydrofuran-0.2% formic acid water solvent system to gradient elution. The column temperature was controlled at 35℃. Ten batches of Herba Erigerontis were detected, and total of 16 common peaks were found in the fingerprints.From Herba Erigerontis injection, eight compounds were isolated. With the maps of ultraviolet, infrared ray, NMR and MS, thest compounds were identified. Of which, five compounds, scutellarin, apigenin-7-O-β-D-glucuronide, caffeic acid, chlorogenic acid, 3,5-dicaffeoylquinic acid were confirmed the adscription of the chomatogram peaks with comparison between the compounds and the chomatographic fingerprint.The methods of the content detecting and the fingerprint spectrum established herein have satisfactory precision, stability and repeatability. It can provide to control the quality of Herba Erigerontis to differentiate positive or negative herbs and to ensure efficacy and safely use in clinic.
