Objective To study the etiopathogenisis, clinical situation, imaging feature, diagnosis and treatment of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, to further realize this disease and raise curative effect. Methods Etiopathogenisis, clinical situation, imaging feature and treatment of 22 cases with clinically diagnosed CVST were retrospectively analyzed. Results Mo st the patients in this group are young, including fourteen males and eight females, whose ages ranged from 19 to 76 years(the average age was 40.91). The riskiness of CVST is excessive,The most common cause of CVST was pregnancy and puerperium in female patients 1 4 of the 22 CVST patients were subacute, and headache was the most common primary symptom(86.36%).most patients had symptoms of intracranial hypertension such as headache and papilledema. some patients had symptoms of epileptic seizure, paralysis, conscious disturbance and so on. brain CT possessed limited diagnostic value. MRI/MRV and DSA play important roles for the diagnosis for CVST, Dehydration, anticoagulation and etiologic treatment were utilized in the patients of CVST, the results were satified. Conclusion The clinical manifestations were variable and nonspecific. Understanding the clinical characteristic of CVST and using MRI and MRV examination as early as possible is the key to CVST diagnosis. DSA should be performed in the patients whose diagnosis have not been determined, especially for those who are probably cerebral venous sinus thrombosis. The final diagnosis of CVST should be based on all of the clinical and neuroimaging data. Anticoagulation is a safe and effective therapy.
