Objective: Allergic rhinitis and asthma are the most common chronic airway conditionsin children which are harmful to them. Allergens sensitization is an important risk factor in the development of asthma and allergic rhinitis. Skin prink test(SPT) and serum-specific IgE are the most common methods for detecting allergens. We are going to evaluate the clinical significance of skin prink test,serum-specific IgE in children with asthma or allergic rhinitis ,determine the degree of agreement between the skin prick test and serum specific IgE levels, the distrubution of the inhalant allergens to help the therapy and the precaution of the two diseases.Method:. All individuals were submitted to the skin prick test with twelve common allergens .Among them , forty-two cases were examined the level of serum-specific IgEResult :(1)By SPT, The positive ratio of dermatophagoids pteronyssinus was 78.1% ,dermatophagoids farinae 75.8 %, mixed molds (霉菌)17.2 % , mixed treepollen8.6% , mixed grass pollen 15.0 % , cat dander17.2 %, cockroach 33.1%.(2) By SPT, The positive ratio of dermatophagoids pteronyssinus was 58.8 % , dermatophagoids farinae was 55.9 % in the group of asthma .The positive ratio of dermatophagoids pteronyssinus was 79.4 %, while dermatophagoids farinae was 76.5 % in the group of allergic rhinitis. There are not statistically significant difference between the positive ratio of the group of children with asthma and the group of children with allergic rhinitis in dermatophagoids pteronyssinus and dermatophagoids farinae(3)The positive ratio of dermatophagoids pteronyssinus and dermatophagoids farinae have statistically significant difference between the groups of older than 5 years old and younger than 5 years old (P < 0.05 ) .The positive ratio of dermatophagoids pteronyssinus and dermatophagoids farinae have no statistically significant difference between girls and boys (P > 0.05) .(4) More predictive ratio of AR with AR family history while not found in asthma ratio with its family history. No diffrence was discovered either from living enviorments. There are statistically significant difference with the hypersensitive conjuntivitis between the group of asthmtic children and the group of children with allergic rhinitis.(5) The positive rate of serum-specific IgE of children with asthma was dermatophagoids pteronyssinus 73.8 %, dermatophagoids farinae 69.0 %, cat dander 11.9%.(6)There are not statistically significant difference between skin prink test and serum-specific IgE of the positive ratio in dermatophagoids pteronyssinus and dermatophagoids farinae. Conclusion: Dermatophagoids pteronyssinus, dermatophagoids farinae are the mostcommon allergens. Skin prink test can be choosed to check allergen in children with asthma or with allergic rhinitis firstly .SPT and serum-specific IgE have each benefit and shortcome.
