Objective: To investigate whether the lipid-oxidation, protein oxidation in materal blood and cord blood have some relations with fetal distress or neonatal asphyxia. Methods: There were 30 people with fetal distress during the labor in the investigation groupâ… , 30 people with fetal distress and pregnancy complications in the investigation groupâ…¡, and 20 people without fetal distress or pregnancy complications in the contrast group. The concentration of malondialdehyde (MDA) was detected by using thiobarbituric acid method and concentration of advanced oxidation proteinproducts (AOPP) was detected by modified Witko-Sarsat method in the maternal blood and the cord blood.Results:(1) The concentration of MDA and AOPP in the investigation group and in the contrast group in maternal blood and in cord blood: the concentration of MDA and AOPP in maternal blood in the investigation group was significantly higher than that in the contrast group , P<0.05. the concentration of MDA and AOPP in cord blood in the investigation group was significantly higher than that in the contrast group , P<0.05.(2)Fetal distress relation with MDA, AOPP:â‘ The concentration of MDA and AOPP in cord blood with the duration of neonatal distress over 30 minutes was significantly higher than that with the duration of neonatal distress less than 30 minutes, P<0.05; there was no significant difference in the maternal blood concentration of MDA and AOPP between these two groups, P>0.05.â‘¡abnormality fatal monitoring had no correlation with the concentration of MDA or AOPP both in maternal blood and cord blood, P>0.05;â‘¢The concentration of MDA and AOPP in cord blood were all higher in meconium-stained amniotic II -III.(3)Neonatal asphyxia correlation with the concentration of MDA or AOPP:â‘ The Apgar score correlation with the concentration of MDA or AOPP: The concentration of MDA and AOPP both in cord blood and maternal blood with neonatal asphyxia than without neonatal asphyxia;â‘¡there was no significant difference in the concentration of MDA and AOPP in maternal blood between the people with or without neonatal asphyxia in the Group I and Group II, P>0.05.â‘¢the concentration of MDA and AOPP in cord blood in the people with neonatal asphyxia was higher than without neonatal asphyxia both in Group I and Group II, P<0.05.â‘£blood gas analysis correlation with the concentration of MDA or AOPP: The concentration of MDA and AOPP in cord blood with PH< 7.20 were higher than that with PH≥7.20, P>0.05; The concentration of MDA and AOPP in maternal blood had no significant differences between the two groups. Conclusion: The concentration of MDA and AOPP in cord blood is useful for diagnosis of fetal distress and evaluation of neonatal asphyxia. There is no definite correlation of fetal distress and neonatal asphyxia with the concentration of the MDA or AOPP in the maternal blood.
