The Microsurgical Treatment Of Tentorial Meningioma

Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of microsurgery for tentorial meningioma. Method A retrospective analysis on the clinical features , the choice of operative approaches and treatment effects of 15 cases with tentorial meningioma which confirmed by surgery and pathology in The Xinjiang Medical university first affiliated hospital Neurosurgery department in January 2002 to December 2007. Results 15 cases of meningiomas tentorium, total tumor resection in 14 cases, most in 1 case. Postoperative complications occurred in 9 cases. According to Karnofsky Performance Scale score≥90 points in 11 cases, 80 in 1, 40 points two cases, 20-one cases.Conclusion The increase in curative rate and decrease in postoperative severe complications and improve postoperative functional recovery may be achieved by the measures, such as adequate preoperative preparation, individualized operative approach, and skilled microsurgical technique in the patients with menigiomas of tentorium cerebelli.
