Purpose:To study the clinical effect in patients with respiratory fatigue in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease with a new method of Shenlingbaizhu Powder. Methods: 78 patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease were divided into treatment group and the contrast group.40 treatment patients were treated with oral application of Shenlingbaizhu Powder with modern medical routine conservative treatment. Contrast group had 38 patients were treated with the same conservative treatment. The morbidity of respiratory failure and dyspnea relaxed, PaO2 and PaCO2 in arterial blood gas before and after treatment, the change of FEV1 / anticipated and FEV1/FVC in Pulmonary function, the change of TCM Syndrome points. Rusults:The rate of morbidity of respiratory failure was 30% in treatment group,The incidence of acute exacerbation of 14%,which were prior to those in contrast group(P<0.05).28 patients (70%) of dyspnea got relaxed, which were much higher than those in contrast group (P<0.01).The levels of PaO2 in arterial blood gas was increased and PaCO2 in arterial blood gas was the decreased trend. FEV1 / anticipated and FEV1/FVC in pulmonary function after treatment were significantly higher than those in contrast group(P<0.01). TCM Syndrome points lower, there were significant differences in efficiency. The control group after treatment of respiratory failure rate and The incidence of acute exacerbation remain high,Dyspnea remission rate lower,PaO2 and PaCO2 didn't change significantly, FEV1 / anticipated and FEV1/FVC in Pulmonary function did not change significantly before and after treatment. TCM Syndrome points did not change significantly, efficient treatment of the two groups statistically no difference. Conclusions:Shenlingbaizhu Powder can improve respiratory muscle fatigue in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, Improvement of oxygen, carbon dioxide retention lower, Improve lung function, It is a satisfactory method of prevention and treatment on respiratory muscle fatigue in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease by the method of Spleen Yifei (earthing up golden).
