Objective:The aim of this study was to observe, measure, and compare the effect of remineralization among different pharmaceutical of fluorine with extracted teeth after interproximal enamel reduction. From these different agents, the best was chosen. And applying evidence for preventing and treating demineralizition after interproximal enamel reduction.Methods:60 freshly clinicaly caries-free human premolars extracted for orthodontic reasons were collected for the experiment. After removal of the root, the crown was split vertically into two halves with wafer-thin wheel blade. Then 120 samples was randomly devided into 4 groups,30 samples for each group.Every sample was reducted enamel with the IER machine. Each of the group above was devided into 5 sub-groups based on the thickness of interproximal enamel reduction(0.1mm,0.2mm,0.3mm,0.4mm,0.5mm). 6 samples for each sub-groups.All the samples were treated for three cycles with different agents, every four weeks for a cycle. The first group was the control group, with artificial saliva;the second group was group A,with 0.1 mol/L NaF solution;the third group was group B,with fluoride foam(contain F 6000ppm);the forth group was group C,with fluor protector(contain F 0.1%).The microhardness before and after treatment of enamel surface of all samples was detected by microhardness testing machine. The enamel surface morphology microstructure was examined using scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The effect of remineralization of each group was analyzed by using SPSS 13.0 Microsoft ANOVA test. The differences among mean values were compared by Student-Newman-Keuls multiple comparison test.Results:①ANOVA detected no statistically significant differences between sub-groups (F=1.189,P>0.05 ).And there were statistically significant differences among the 4 groups of different treatment(F=39.968,P<0.05).The results showed that the thickness of enamel reduction had no effect on remineralization after IER,the 4 different agents had a profound effect on remineralization after IER.②The post SNK-q test showed that there were statistically significant differences between the 3 treatment groups and the control group(P<0.01 ).The effect of remineralization in 3 treatment groups was better than the control group after IER.And there were statistically significant differences between treatment group B and the treatment group A,C(P<0.05,P<0.01),which means the effect of remineralization in treatment group B was better than treatment group A,C after IER.There were no statistically significant differences between treatment group A and the treatment group C(P>0.05),the effect of remineralization in treatment group A and C was the same after IER.③There were amounts of calcify plot presenced on the enamel surface of the three groups by SEM,and group B was the most obvious one.Conelusions:①There was no significant effect of remineralization under artificial saliva condition after interproximal enamel reduction.②The three agents(0.1 mol/L NaF,fluoride foam, fluor protector) were all have good effect of remineralizition after IER.And the effect of remineralization in fluoride foam group was the best in the 3 groups.③The thickness of IER between 0.1mm~0.5mm had no effect on remineralization after IER.④The furrows of the enamel surface which caused by interproximal enamel reduction were hardly repaired even after remineralization.
