The Initial Observation Of The Quality Of Life About Chinese And Western Medicine In Patients With Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

[Background]Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is a common malignancy in southern China,one in Guangdong and Guangxi areas of high incidence.With current chemotherapy and radiotherapy technology advances the survival rate of nasopharyngeal cancer and the cure rate can be greatly improved.And radiotherapy and chemotherapy to kill tumor cells at the same time,it will inevitably damage the normal human tissues and organs,a series of short-term and long-term side effects,has seriously affected the quality of life of patients.Clinical application of Chinese medicine over the past decade shows that traditional Chinese medicine in improving clinical symptoms in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma,radiotherapy and chemotherapy to reduce toxic side effects,improve the quality of life and prolong the survival period of more features.[Purpose]This study was designed by an internationally recognized universal cancer patients quality of life scale-the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer quality of life of the core scale(EORTC QLQ-C30)to investigate the treatment of radiotherapy and chemotherapy with the Chinese medicine group and simply put six months of chemotherapy in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma quality of life situation,so that by comparing the scores of Chinese medicine treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients with adverse reactions to radiotherapy and chemotherapy are more persuasive advantage.[Object and Method]Study for 2006 to 2009 in our hospital ENT outpatient, inpatient and the Guangzhou Military Region General Hospital inpatient and outpatient studies in line with the standards of the total 80 cases of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma(TCM group and 40 cases of control group). Observation of the object are accepted in the General Hospital of Guangzhou Military Region of radiation therapy.Radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment group from the beginning of the previous week to be after Treatment of oral medicine(TCM prescription 1st week through the proper adjustment of differentiation);the control group were simply against radiotherapy and chemotherapy Chinese medicine,Western medicine prescriptions to deal with aids.Two groups of patients were pre-radiotherapy and chemotherapy, radiotherapy and chemotherapy within 1 month,3 month,6-month time points for four EORTC QLQ-C30 quality of life assessment.Will be in the functional areas of the two groups of patients,symptoms of the field of economic difficulties,the overall health score for SPSS statistical analysis software.[Results]Through two groups of patients with EORTC QLQ-C30 quality of life scores statistics,two groups of patients with pre-treatment quality of life compared with a significant difference(P＞0.05),two groups of patients comparable.Accepted 1,3 months after radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment group of patients with Chinese medicine on the functional areas,the areas of symptoms,overall health status are better than the control group(P＜0.05). After radiotherapy and chemotherapy in six months after the treatment group of patients with functional areas,the areas of symptoms,overall health status, economic difficulties are better than the control group(P＜0.05).[Findings]Release of Chinese medicine with western medicine,chemotherapy, radiotherapy and chemotherapy in improving short-term and more long-term toxicity in patients with systemic regulation of body functions,enhance immunity,added to the confidence of patients with resistant disease have a certain advantage.
