| Objective:Allergic rhinitis is an allergic reaction caused by hypersensitivity of human body to certain allergy.Its main lesion is focused on nasal mucosa. Its clinical symptoms include nasal obstruction,nasal itch,nasal discharge and sneezing.It has the characteristics of repeated occurrence and it is refractory.Up till now,there are no specially effective drugs for treating this disease.But the prevention and treatment research of traditional Chinese medicine on allergic rhinitis has been widely concerned by many scholars.Many achievements has been obtained in clinic of Chinese medicine and the advantages of Chinese medicine has been displayed.There are few experimental researches on acupuncture and moxibustion in treating allergic rhinitis and there are seldom researches on the action mechanism of acu-point application in treating allergic rhinitis.So this study focuses on the therapeutic effectiveness and its action mechanism of acu-point application in treating allergic rhinitis.Method:Rat model of allergic rhinitis was prepared by injecting egg album and stimulating nasal mucosa.40 SD rats were randomly divided into four groups: normal control group,model group,acu-point application treatment group and Beclomethasone Dipropoinate Nasal Aerosol(BDNA) group.Normal control group and model group were not treated.Acu-point application group was treated by acu-point application on Dazhui,Shenshu and Feishu,once in a other day,for 2 weeks.BDNA group was treated by BDNA,once in a day,for two weeks. The behaviors of rats in all groups were observed.The pathological changes of nasal mucosa were tested and the contents of serum IgE,IL-4 were determined by radio-immunologic analysis.Results:1.Compared with normal control group,the behaviors' scores of model group were significantly higher(p＜0.01).After treatment,the behaviors' scores of acu-point application group and BDNA group were significantly lower than those of model group(p＜0.01).2.Compared with normal control group,the eosinophilic granulocyte(EOS) count of model group is significantly higher(p＜0.01).After treatment,the EOS counts of acu-point application group and BDNA group were significantly lower than those of model group(p＜0.01).3.Compared with normal control group,the serum content of IgE and IL-4 of model group is significantly higher(p＜0.05).After treatment,the serum content of IgE and IL-4 of acu-point application group and BDNA group were significantly lower than those of model group(p＜0.05).Conclusion:1.Acu-point application can effectively improve the symptoms of rats with allergic rhinitis.It means the method is effective for treating allergic rhinitis.2.Acu-point application can effectively improve the pathological lesions of rats with allergic rhinitis.3.The possible action mechanisms of Acu-point application in treating allergic rhinitis may be as the follows::①It can significantly decrease the COS count of nasal mucosa of rats with allergic rhinitis.②It can effectively decrease the serum content of IgE and IL-4 of rats with allergic rhinitis. |
