Hemoptysis, especially lifethreatening macrohemoptysis, is the frequent urgent severe case in clinical.The mortality rate is very high.The main cause of death are hemorrhagic shock and asphyxia.So we should make a definite diagnosis and treat as soon as possible,which is the most important to save life.We overviewed the concept,the etipathogenisis,the diagnosis and treatment in this article.There are many methods to treat hemo- ptysis including of hemostatic,bronchial artery embolization, bronchofibroscope and operation.
