Ficus pumila Fruit is the Ficus pumila syconium of Moraceae Ficus Plant, Distributed in the provinces and autonomous regions in China, based on a wide range of medicinal foundation in Civil society, being very rich in resources, clearing away heat and toxic, eliminating wind and wet of body, relaxing and activating the tendons, dredging women milk. It is a kind of value in development of resources of medicinal plants.As Ficus pumila fruit there are three species : female flower fruit, fruit gall, expanding foam, what can be Medicinal,edible is still unknow, domestic and foreign research in it reported less, Chinese Pharmacopeia is also without records, quality standards are out of day, so species around the country become more confusing, difficult to control the quality. Therefore, Pharmacognosy from this experimental point of view of Ficus pumila fruit is a more systematic study, and offers complete datas of morphologic characteristics. It is the first time researching TLC of catechin,meletin. Meanwhile we have researched in quality controls of Ficus pumila Fruit medicinal substances, formulated its quality appreciation methods. By HPLC, we have studied content determination of Ficus pumila Fruit medicinal substances adopting rutin as the standard. As a result medicinal substances collected from ten places of production , which rutin contents are between 0.02~0.03g/g, in addition there is systematic study at Ficus pumila Fruit quality standards, determinating some index content such as ash,moisture,extract and so on.It is the first time studying finger printing of flavonoids of Ficus pumila Fruit, and has established corresponding methods by HPLC. The method has been asserted determination condition of finger printing, confined nineteen peaks as the owned peaks of the finger printing under analyzing the printing. All are composed of its typical finger printing. Rutin as a reference has been calculated on other peaks' relative retention time and relative peak area which is as technical parameters estimating finger printing, resemble degrees are above 0.99 between finger printings. The result show that analytical methods of finger printing established by this research have good reproducibility, offering scientific evidences to control Ficus pumila Fruit quality, laiding the foundation for extreme exploration and utilization.
