AimHippophae rhamnoides L.(Sea Buckthorn) belong to the Elaeagnaceae famil y,Hippophae genus. It is the most important traditional medicine in Mongoljen and Tibetan.Pharmacological researches suggested H.rhamnoides showed various bioactivities. In this thesis, the EtOAc portion of EtOH extract of the dry seed was investigated,in order to support enough quantity and study the bio-activity of the chemical constituents.MethodModern chromatographic techniques, including Silica gel CC,Sephadex LH-20 CC,TLC,were used in the experiment. The structures were elucidated on th e basis of spectral methods.ResultsEleven compounds were isolated from the EtOAc extracts of the seed of Hi ppophae rhamnoides.ConclusionThe structure of these compounds were identified on the basis of chemical- physical characteristic and spectral methods, together with comparing with spectr al data with the known compound.Twelve compounds were elucidated as kaempf erol-3-rutinoside(1),kaempferol-3-O-α-L-rhampyranoside(2),kaempferol(3),que rcetin(4),isorhamnetin(5),(+)-catechin(6),(-)-epicatechin(7),(+)-gallocatechin (8),(-)-epigallocatechin(9),6,9-dihydroxy-4,7-megastigmadien-3-one(10),β-sitos terol(11),daucosterol(12).
