Objective:To summarize and evaluate the significances and effects of thoracolumbar burst fractures by the method of pedicle screw internal fixation system with bone graft of vertebral body via pedicle and to investigate the correlative factors in order to provide theoretical foundation for clinical application,then look for the method as the best choice for clinical application.Methods:The analysis of 32 thoracolumbar burst fractures cases being treated by pedicle screw internal fixation system with bone graft of vertebral body via pedicle which with complete follow-up datas.These cases are all from Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Affiliated Hospital over the past five years (2003.8~2008.8).Then according to patients' results that preoperation,postoperation one week and late follow-up,to analyze the effects of surgery.In comparison with the information preoperation,postoperation,to get the factors which maybe the impact of the surgery.Results:After 6 months to 2.3 years(average 12.6±3.2months) follow-up to all the patients,26 of them got out of bed and did exercise after 2~3 months,no screw broken,loosen,without vertebral body compression obviously and there was clear easing pain after surgery(VAS scores improved obviously),the bone graft of vertebral body via pedicle were all survived,no neurovascular injury complications occurred and the injured vertebral body recovered well.The recovery situation of Cobb angle and the anterior of vertebral body height was better after surgery,P<0.05,there is statistical significance,the effect of the surgery should be affirmed.Conclusion:While there is no trauma increasing by bone graft of vertebral body via pedicle with pedicle screw internal fixation system in posterior route surgery,and can restore the injured vertebral body' height,this could increase the bone capacity of vertebral body and compressive stability of the anterior and middle column of the spinal cord,then the patients could have some early activities,and reduce complications such as pedicle screw broken,recompression by too large stress from fixation,and the bone units well.Thus has a good effect in preventing losing correction degrees and vertebral compression after surgery.There is a satisfactory effect after long-term follow-up.
