ObjectiveTo explore the risk factors of rotavirus infectious diarrhea in Jilin,we conducted an epidemiological survey.This will greatly help to provide some scientific evidences for preventing rotavirus infectious diarrhea of children and also effectively promote the practice of prevention and control for rotavirus infectious diarrhea.MethodsA 1:2 matched case-control study was conducted based on hospital in Jilin,and 290 rotavirus infectious diarrhea patients and 580 matched control samples were collected,which were matched in age,sex.One coincident questionnaire was used to collect the information including general information,potential risk factors of diarrhea,clinical data of diarrhea,and drinking water quality in some investigation areas were monitored.All information was input in computer using Epidata 3.0 software and constructed to one database,and SPSS 11.5 software was used to analyze the data.Laboratory testingSample treatment:The 0.5ml specimen was added to the 1.5ml EP tube,1.0ml treatment sample liquid were added to the 1.5mlEP tube too.Then the 1.5mlEP tube was Stirred 10 seconds for 3 times and after10 minutes,centrifuged at 8000 r/min for 5 minutes,then saved at -20℃.Samples were detected by ELISA kits(DAKO) according to the instructions of manufacturer:First added 100μl of the supernatant suspension to each hole.Second added100μl enzyme conjugates to the hole.then waited one hour.Third poured way the liquid and washed the holes 4 times.Fourth added 100μl termination liquid to the holes and waited for 10 minutes.Fifth observed the results.Data analysisWe inputted the collected data to database using the Epidata 3.0 software and analysised the data using SPSS11.5 software by the condition Logistic regression,we used the COX regression to simulate the condition Logistic regression in the SPSS11.5 software.Then we used forward method to analyze data in the multi-factors analysis.Results290 cases and 580 matched control cases according to the age section,the sex. The single factor analysis about rotavirus risk factor by the condition Logistic regression,its result showed that the following were risk factors of rotavirus infection.The low education level of children's mother was a risk factor of rotavirus infection(OR:2.80,95%C:1.17-4.42;OR:15.95,95%CI:6.54-38.87);the low per capita income of children's family was a protection factor of rotavirus infection (below 500 Yuan OR:9.64,95%CI:1.19-78.06;In 500-999 Yuan OR.3.56,95%CI: 0.45-28.39;In 1000-1499 Yuan OR:3.99,95%CI:0.40-39.40;up 2000 Yuan OR: 3.84,95%CI:0.37-37.06);using the well water(OR:4.22,95%CI:2.96-6.02); the fly in dining room was a risk factor of rotavirus infection(OR:1.78,95%CI: 1.06-2.99);the garbage placed outside or inside yard was a risk factor of rotavirus infection(OR:5.32,95%CI:4.11-8.05);having pet in child's family was a risk factor of rotavirus infection(OR:2.64,95%CI:1.79-3.89),having poultry in child's family was a risk factor of rotavirus infection(OR:3.62,95%CI:2.51-5.22),having livestock in child's family was a risk factor of rotavirus infection(OR:3.24,95%CI: 2.02-5.22);the children feeding on mother's milk was a risk factor of rotavirus infection(OR:1.62,95%CI:1.09-2.41) and feeding on partly mother's milks was a risk factor of rotavirus infection(OR:2.36,95%CI:1.56-3.57);contacting with the animal is a risk factor of rotavirus infection(OR:2.08.95%CI:1.07-4.03):No cleaning or no disinfection the toy was a risk factor of rotavirus infection(OR:3.20, 95%CI:2.23-4.60);Protection factors:Having children's independent bedroom(OR:0.26,95%CI:0.13-0.52);having basin in kitchen(OR:0.33,95%CI:0.24-0.45);Then these variables put in the multi-factors the condition Logistic regression using forward method.These variables were screening according to selecting into 0.05 and rejection 0.10 level.The results showed that the low level of mother's education is a risk factor of rotavirus infection(OR:4.37,95%CI:1.55-12.34):the per capita low income of children's family(OR:5.78,95%CI:1.08-30.89);the garbage placed outside yard was a risk factor of rotavirus infection(OR:5.32, 95%CI:4.11-8.05);No cleaning or no disinfection the toy was a risk factor of rotavirus infection(OR:2.17,95%CI:1.42-3.31);the children feeding on partial mother's milks was a risk factor of rotavirus infection(OR:1.81,95%CI:1.11-2.95) these factors increased the opportunity of rotavirus infection.The single factor analysis about lifestyle,the diet and the hygiene in the child before a week of infections by the condition Logistic regression,the results showed that the no clearing or no disinfection of milk bottle was a risk factor of rotavirus infection(ORfrequently:1.99,95%CI:1.11-3.57;ORoccasionally:3.62,95%CI: 1.18-11.09);the low education of preparation food people was a risk factor of rotavirus infection(OR:2.01,95%CIlow:1.15-3.54:OR:3.98,95%CI:1.73-9.17); before feeding on the child washing hands was a protection factor of rotavirus infection(OR:0.19,95%CI:0.07-0.51);washing hands before preparing food was a protection factor of rotavirus infection(OR:0.34,95%CI:0.20-0.58);washing hands before eating meal was a protection factor of rotavirus infection(OR:0.34, 95%CI:0.20-0.58):these factor increased or reduced the opportunity of rotavirus infection.Then these variables were put in the multi-factors condition Logistic regression using forward method according to selecting into 0..05 and rejection 0.10 level.The results showed that no washing hands before preparing food was a risk factor of rotavirus infection(ORfrequently:3.30,95%CI:1.37-8.00:ORoccasionally: 3.54,95%CI:1.08-11.62);No washing hands before eating meal was a risk factor of rotavirus infection(OR:2.98,95%CI:1.06-8.38);these factors increased the opportunity of rotavirus infection.The conditions logistic regression analysis about breast-feeding children,the result showed that not cleaning the nipple before breast-feeding was a risk factor of rotavirus infection(OR:4.69,95%CI:2.14-10.25).The conditions logistic regression analysis about the previous weeks diet and hygiene habit of≥1-year-old children,the result showed that no washing hands after going to toilet was a risk factor of rotavirus infection(ORfrequently:8.65,95%CI: 2.02-36.99;ORoccasionally:8.23,95%CI:2.23-30.72;ORnot:54.32,95%CI: 10.63-277.54).ConclusionsThe results of this study showed that poor life and poor hygiene habits were risk factors of infectious diarrhea rotavirus under five years old.We will prevent of rotavirus diarrhea form heightening education level,developping healthy education, having good hygiene habits and diet,dealing with garbage in time,improving life and hygiene condition.
