Objective:we have observing the clinical conditions of clipped PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) keratoprosthesis(K-pro) by ourselves implanted into alkali burned rabbit corneas and discuss of the study, including Kpro designs,operative methods,compalications;To abserve the biological compatibility about the PMMA and silicone materials deeperly. Methods:The first,it is would be made 5 cases that the alkali burned rabbit corneal leucoma with newly born blood vessel model successful in our primary experimental study.The second,The experimental abserve of clipped PMMA keratoprosthesis implanted into alkali burned rabbit corneas. Results:The operation process of the clipped PMMA keratoprosthesis implanted into alkali burned rabbit corneas is smoothly;One of the rabbit corneas happened endophthalmitis,one is dead with not clear reason,the others ave been retained during the experiment more than two month without severe complications,such as corneal dissolve,aqueous humor leak out,glaucoma,infection,and grow situations are fine;Conclusion:1.The Kpro designs is reasonal,with it is to fit the experimental study of animals;2.It's operative methods of clipped PMMA keratoprosthesis,implanted,into.alkali burned rabbit corneas are practicable,the compalications during and after operative are reduce;3. From the experimental of study is indicate this type Keratoprosthesis with the materials would practicable in clinical possibily.It's designs shoud be improved and consummated in the next the experimental of study.
