Objective:We have observing the clinical conditions of the autogenous iliac bone-keratoprosthesis(Kpro) implanted into rabbit corneas and discuss of the study, including Kpro designs, operative methods, complications and the biological compatibility of Kpro. Methods:In the subject of the first phase of experiments.we will get 5 model autologous iliac bone-keratoprosthesis in the way of embedding the PMMA optical cylinder in rabbit iliac bone and shaping after 3 month. It will be embedding into the rabbit corneas and be observed for period of times. Results:The operation process of the autogenous iliac bone-keratoprosthesis implanted into rabbit corneas is smoothly; One of the rabbit can not find the PMMA which is embedded into iliac bone three months ago, one is dead with massive haemorrhage, the others are been retained during the experiment more than three months without severe complications, such as corneal dissolve, aqueous humor leak out, glaucoma, infection, and grow situations are fine.Conclusion:1. The Kpro designs is reasonable, with it is to fit the experimental study of animals; 2. It's operative methods of the autogenous iliac bone-keratoprosthesis implanted into rabbit corneas are practicable, the complications during and after operative are reduce; 3. From the experimental of study is indicate this type keratoprostheis with the materials would practicable in clinical possibly. It's designs should be improved and consummated in the next the experimental of study.
