The Clinical Research On Treating Androgenic Alopecia With Traditional Chinese Medicine And Western Medicine

Objective:Discuss the clinical efficacy of the treatment on AGA in traditional Chinese medicine based on "Hair Growth Decoction" combined with Finasteride and Minoxidil.Methods:This study was pective study,using a semi-randomized controlled method.All case came from out-patients of the first hospital affiliated to Guangzhou university of CM.Totally 92 cases,divided into 3 groups,all patients were male.40 patients in treatment group,were treated by "Hair Growth Decoction"(Fructus ligustri lucidi 15g,Herba ecliptae 30g,Radix polygoni multiflori 15g,Semen cuscutae 15g,Fructus mori 15g,Radix salviae miltiorrhizae 30g,Radix notoginseng 10g,Radlx astragali 30g,Poria 15g,Radlx glycyrrhizae 10g) and Finasteide.25 patients in control group 1 were treated by Finateride.27 patients in control group 2 were treated by Chinese herbal (Hair Growth Decoction).Three groups of patients were also treated with Minoxidil.Improving of alopecia,condition of hair-growing,decreasing of oily-hair,itching of head and quantity of scurf after three and six months' treatment were observed and evaluated in the three groups.Bad reaction during the course of treatment was also recorded. degree of alopecia,there were no obvious differences between them.Three groups of patients were well matched.Compared before and after three and six months' treatment decreases of oily-hair,head itching and quantity of scurf of three groups,therapy group was obviously better than the control group 1(P＜0.05),while it was roughly similar to the control group 2(P＞0.05).The curative effect of the therapy group was obviously better than both of the two control groups in three and six months.Furthermore the curative effect of control group 1 was better than control group 2 after three and six months treatment.Both of the control groups were similar(P＞0.05).Within the treatment group,degree of alopecia and course of disease were related to the curative effect.There are not appearance of sexual function decrement in these groups. Patients of therapy group and the control group 2 felt that their bodies condition improved distinctly which including energy,sleep and appetite,the same condition didn't appear on patients of control groups 1.There was one patient in control group 2(3.70%)felt scalp itch and red when using Minoxidil for one week,but there was no discomfort after continued using.Conclusion:The research has proved that traditional Chinese medicines treat AGA effective and safe.The therapy group was better than the control groups by length of time,treatment effects and symptoms improvement.The treating time prolongs the clinical curative effect of therapy group increased distinctly. Combination use of Chinese and western medicine indicates the best result overall.It can significantly improve the quality of life of patients.
