Speciality:Clinical Medicine of Intergrated TCM-WMAuthor:Chan wenyuTutor:Wong XiaoyunBackground"Chinese Medicine Dispensing Granules" are a foundation in Chinese Herbal Pieces on the development of new dosage forms to traditional Chinese medicine concoction for Pieces of raw materials in recent years,by the modern industrial extraction,concentration,drying,granulating together,do not change the prescription of Chinese medicine habits,easy to transport,storage and use.However,Dispensing Granules contain only part of the original pieces but not all elements,whether still retain the original effect for the different disease,it is difficult to provide scientific evidence;In addition, the existing research on Chinese medicine,"group fried" and "single-fried" the ingredients may be different,whether alternative herbal pieces of clinical efficacy,is still in dispute.So it require more rigorous scientific clinical trials to study the comparison of Chinese Herbal Pieces to Dispensing Granules in clinical efficacy of treatment and whether or not differences exist, the evaluation of its security treatment of disease,in conclusion to find out whether the Dispensing Granules can alternative the Herbal Pieces,that is worth exploring.Menopausal Syndrome in postmenopausal women before and after the recession as a result of ovarian function,or reduce the emergence of sex hormone fluctuations caused by a series of mainly autonomic dysfunction, accompanied by neural and psychological symptoms of the syndrome.Clinical observation indicates that Chinese medicine treatment of Menopausal Syndrome with significant features and advantages of the Chinese Herbal Pieces.But it is inconvenience to carry,such as taking the inconvenience shortcomings,not in conformity with the rhythm of modern life,not meet the requirements with people.The study of comparative treatment of menopausal syndrome with Chinese Herbal Pieces and Dispensing Granules is an importance of research. ObjectiveThe research is that Chinese Herbal Pieces and Dispensing Granules treat raenopausal syndrome,to observe the efficacy and the security of Dispensing Granules,so as to further the possibility of Dispensing Granules whether can alternative Herbal Pieces and to provide a basis for Menopausal Syndrome treatment to provide a new dosage form.MethodUsing randomized controlled trial,we observed 60 out-patients with Menopausal Syndrome in accordance with the WM standard diagnosis and TCM Shen Xu Gan Yu in department of Gynecology in Guangdong TCM Hospital from Jun.2008 to Mar.2009.According to Randomized table divide the patients to the trial group with Dispensing Granule and control group with Herbal Pieces,the treatment consisits 4 weeks.To evaluate the Kupermann Index(KI),Self-made for symptoms of Chinese traditional medicine,90Symptom Assessment Scale (sc1-90),and five-TCM,before therapy and 2/4 weeks after therapy each, and safety evaluation,and record the harmful incident.Rusult1.KI score,2 or 4 weeks after therapy trial group and control group both has significant difference with the one before therapy(p＜0.01),and no notable statistics difference between groups(P＞0.05).The result has the excellence rate of 86.7%in trial group,90.0%in control group,and no notable statistics difference between groups(P＜0.05).2.Symptoms score,respectively compared patients' indexes correlation on perimenopausal syndromes,trial group and control group have been obviously improved(P＜0.01),and no notable statistics difference between groups(P＜0.05).3.90 SCL(SCL-90) score,trial group and control group before treatment and after treatment than 4 weeks, total score,the total divided equally between the positive items,divided equally between positive symptoms and the factor scores(except outside the mental factor),the differences were significant(P＜0.05),and no notable statistics difference between groups(P＞0.05).4.five-TCM score,trial group and control group 2 weeks after therapy,total score,the total divided equally between the positive items,divided equally between the positive symptoms factor scores,trial group and control group both has no significant difference (P＞0.05),and no notable statistics difference between groups(P＞0.05); But after 4 weeks,total score,the total divided equally between the positive items,divided equally between the positive symptoms factor scores,trial group and control group both has significant differences(P＜0.05),and no notable statistics difference between groups(P＞0.05).5.Each group has 1 case defluviums,and has not abnormalty on safety evaluation yet.Conclusion1.The Dispensing Granules could improve the menopausal syndrome in patients with somatic symptoms and psychological symptoms were signifi -cantly improved;but to alleviate the physical symptoms f istly,then the psychological symptoms be improved.2.The Dispensing Granules easy to use,efficacy and safety of herbal pieces.It can be used extensively as new dosage form as herbal pieces.3.Menopausal syndrome is a physical and psychological symptoms of a comprehensive syndrome symptoms,and its treatment should be in the medical and psychological treatment of co-integrated.
