Survival Analysis For 163 Patients With Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Treated By Traditional Chinese Medicine

Objective:To investigate the survival time and the prognostic factors of 163 patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer treated by Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) for researching a set of advanced NSCLC Chinese medicine treatment module.Methods:From January 1,2002 to December 31,2007,whom were cured at Guangdong Provincial Hospital of TCM for advanced non small cell lung cancer,were wrote down of demonstrates age,gender,smoke,disease stage, treatmonts and so on.And then carried on the data compilation and used the SPSS13.0 statistics software to observant the survival time and carry on the prognosis factor analysis.Results:The median survival time of these patients was 6.6 months analyzed by the life tables.6 months and I-years accumulated surv(?)val rates were 42%,25%respectively.The prognostic factors(in total 42 factors) of the patients was analyzed by Kaplan-M(?)i(?)r method which may affect these patients' survival time.The result showed PS score,disease stage,adenocarcinoma,the amount of oral Chinese patent drug,the amount of xiaojiyin Oral Liquid and the amount of decoction(in total 6 factors)were related to these patients 'survival time(P<0.05).And other prognostic factors such as gender,smoke,malignant pleural effusion,and so on,in total 36 factors weren't related to these patients 'survival time(P>0.05).The six factors selected by Kaplan-Meier were analyzed by Cox regression.The result showed PS score,disease stage,and the amount of decoction had the independent significance to these patients' survival time.Their regression coefficent were 0.939,1.427,-0.837 separately, It showed PS score and disease singe were the Rick factors to the NSCLC patients,and the amount of decoction was the protective factor to the NSCLC patients.The median survival time of different groups of PS score(0-3 score) were 43.2,13.5,8.6,3.7 months separately.Comparing with these time was discrepant(P<0.05),The median survival time of disease stageâ…¢b andâ…£were 16.3 and 5.2 months separately.Comparing with them was obviously discrepant.(P=0.00).Conclusion:1.The multipath of the TCM treatment was a better way to cure the patients of NSCLC The more the gross of decoction be used,the more survival time be improved to NSCLC patients,2.PS score and demonstrates age maybe the prognostic factors of NSCLC.
