Jumi, almost made from the bud of Chrsanthe memindieum, has been used as a kind of drinks for a long time in our country. Jumi has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory activities and plays protective roles in liver diseases, and it is especially efficient treatment of hypertension and vision feebleness.Flavonoid is one kind of components with a wide range of bioactivities in Compositae(The content of flavonoids in Jumi is 13%). For now, there hasn't been full development in Jumi. In this study, by using Jumi as the materials and with adsorption rates, desorption rates as indexes, the static and dynamic adsorption tests were employed to investigate effects and affective factors of purification of flavonoids in Jumi with macroporous resin. The obtained flavonoids product has total flavonoids purity rate of more than 85 % by using resin 200702 for twice purification. There have less study and report about the chemical constituents from Jumi. In order to investigate the chemical constituents and the active components of Jumi deeply, in this study, the chemical constituents and the biological activity of Jumi were investigated. Three pure compounds were isolated by solvent extraction and chromatography methods from ethyl acetate extracts. The structures of three compounds were elucidated on the basis of spectral evidence such as UV, ESI-MS, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR. They are Kaempferol ( I ),Diosmetin ( II ),Hesperidin (III) .Those compounds were isolated from this plant for the first time.The antioxidant activity of raw flavonoids,purified flavonoids,compounds I -III was investigated by DPPH·method. The results showed that the purified flavonoids have some antioxidative efficiency in the same high concentration even more than VC; except compound III, these other two compounds have stronger scavenging activity to DPPH·free radicals than VC just in the same low concentration. The antioxidative efficiency of the isolated compounds was in the order of Diosmetin (II)> Kaempferol ( I )> VC > Hesperidin (III) .
