Effect Of Colon Dialysis Therapy On Microinflammation And Nutritional Status In Patients With Chronic Renal Failure

Objective:To observe effects of colon dialysis therapy on uremic symptoms and microinflammation and nutritional status in chronic renal failure(CRF) patients.Methods:80 cases of CRF were randomly divided into groups as treatment group(40 cases) and control group(40 cases).Patients in treatment group received colon dialysis therapy combined with uremic clearance granule retention enema,and patients in control group received uremic clearance granule orally.The treatment lasted for one month.The changes of clinical symptoms,renal function,electrolyte,microinflammation and nutrition were observed before and after treatment,and the adverse reactions were also recorded.Results:1.The total effective rate of treatment group is 95%,while 47.5%in control group(P＜0.01).2.The integral of syndrome of traditional chinese medicine descented obviously in both groups after therapy(P＜0.01～0.05),which treatment group was prominent(P＜0.01).3.In both two groups,the levels of K⁺,Na⁺,Ca²⁺,P^3- did not change obviously after therapy (P＞0.05).4.Compare with control group,the levels of Scr,BUN in treatment group dropped significantly after therapy(P＜0.01).5.Compare with control group,the level of hsCRP in treatment group dropped significantly after therapy(P＜0.05).6.In treatment group after treatment,the level of PAB was improved significantly (P＜0.05),while the levels of ALB,TRF,Hb were not(P＞0.05).In control group after treatment, the level of ALB was decreased significantly(P＜0.01).7.No obvious adverse effect found during the period of treatment,some patients had mild responses such as abdominal pain or abdominal distension in the early stage of colon dialysis therapy.Conclusions:The microinflammation and nutritional status were present in CRF patients before dialysis.Colon dialysis therapy combined with uremic clearance granule retention enema could reduce microinflammation,improve nutritional status,alleviate uremic symptoms,delay the development of renal function failure,lengthen non-dialysis therapy,improve CRF patients' life quality.Colon dialysis was a safe,effective,easily acceptable therapy especially for CRF patients with habitual constipation.
