Objective:1. To investigate the expression of Survivin and Livin of apoptosis inhibitors in non-small cell lung cancer and the relationships with clinicopathological factors.2. To investigate the correlation between Survivin and Livin in non-small cell lung cancer .Methods:Collected 52 paraffin-embedded surgical resection of pathologically confirmed cases of non-small cell lung cancer specimens and 52 normal tissues next to lung cancer tissue samples more than 5cm. The group consisted of 35 men and 17 women with a mean age of 58.7 years (range 40-75). All the patients were not lined of preoperative anti-tumor therapys such as radiotherapy and chemotherapy. NSCLC carcinoma specimens were make up with 25 stageⅠ, 11 stageⅡ, and 16 stageⅢcases according to the 7th revised version of Lung Cancer TNM Staging Standard from Journal of Thoracic Oncology by International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer in 2007. There were 27 cases of lymph node metastasis in 52 tumor cases. Detect the expression of Survivin and Livin gene by immunohistochemical S-P method. Datas were classified according to histological type, clinical stage, lymph node metastasis, age and sex and were analyzed by SPSS13.0 software. Significant differences (P < 0.05) between groups were determined using Non-parametric Comparisons Test (Kruskall–Wallis test) and Mann–Whitney test. Correlation between Survivin and Livin used Spearman rank correlation analysis toα= 0.05 (two-tailed probability) as the standard test.Results:1.The expression of Survivin in NSCLC tissues was significantly increased than in lung tissue adjacent to cancer(61.54% vs 5.77%,P=0.00); Survivin expression was closely related with adenocarcinoma(Z =-2.35;P=0.02).2.Livin expression was significantly increased than in lung tissue adjacent to cancer (48.08% vs 0.00%,P=0.00). Livin expression were closely related to lymph node metastasis(Z=-2.00;P=0.046).3.There were no correlations between Survivin and Livin(r = - 0.19; P = 0.19). Conclusion:1.The expression of Survivin and Livin were increased in non-small cell lung cancer tissue.2.Survivin expression was closely related with adenocarcinoma.3.Livin expression may be related to the transfer of NSCLC carcinoma cells.4.There were no correlations between Survivin and Livin.
