ObjectiveTo study the association of PSMA6 -8C/G gene polymorphism with the occurrence of stroke and the effect to blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, blood fat of patients with stroke in han population of Hunan province.MethodsPSMA6 -8C/G gene polymorphism was detected by polymerase chain reaction(PCR) and restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) in 183 patients with cerebral infarction, 160 patients with cerebral hemorrhage and 150 healthy controls.Results1. In healthy control group, the frequencies of PSMA6 -8C/G genotypes are CC 42.7%, CG 46.7%, GG 10.7%, C allele frequency and G allele frequency are 66.1 % and 33.9%.2. PSMA6 -8C/G polymorphism revealed no significant difference of genotype and allelic distribution in stroke patients, its subgroups ( including cerebral infarction and cerebral hemorrhage ) and control group.3. In stroke patients and its subgroups , blood pressure, fasting blood glucose and the serum level of blood-fat index are not significantly different among the three genotypes. Blood pressure, fasting blood glucose and blood-fat index also revealed no significant difference of genotype in control group.Conclusions1. The PSMA6 -8C/G polymorphism might not be independent risk factor involved in the incidence of stroke in han population of Hunan province.2. PSMA6 -8C/G polymorphism might not be associated with blood pressure, fasting blood glucose and the metabolism of blood-fat index in han population of Hunan province.
