The fruit of Chaenomeles speciosa S. Nakai(called Xuancheng pawpaw)is a mat-erial of preciousTraditional Chinese Medicine which has high nutritional value.It is rich in organic acids, saponins, vitamins, carotenoids, amino acids, pectin, flavonoids and macro-elements such as potassium, magnesium, calcium, micro-elements such as zinc, iron, manganese.Oleanolic Acid(OA) contained in Xuancheng pawpaw has special effects in protecting liver, inhibiting bacterium and reducing blood lipid. It is inevitable that Xuancheng pawpaw is utilized.To make good use of Xuancheng Pawpaw, ultrasonic extraction and separation-purification process of main bioactive compound-OA from leaves of Xuancheng pawpaw were studied in this paper, And then new products such as tablet and capsule were developed by using ultrafine powder of fruits and freeze-dried extract powder of leaves as raw material.and the corresponding process parameters were obtained.Firstly,the nutrient component in fruits of Xuancheng Pawpaw was determined, it contained total sugar 2.572%,diminishing sugar 1.385%,organic acids 3.442%, pectin 1.421 %, tannin 2.228%,Crude fiber 1.662%,Vitamin C 76mg/100g, protein 1.014 %, Ursolic Acid 0.109 % ,OA 0.163%.Secondly, qualitative identification of the extraction from fruits and leaves of Xuan cheng pawpaw by Thin Layer Chromatography(TLC) was found that they had the same blue spotting with Standard OA in the same Rf(0.35). It demonstrated clearly that there was OA in leaves and fruits of Xuancheng pawpaw. The ethanol was used to extract OA from leaves of Xuancheng pawpaw,the orthogonal test was used to optimize the ultrasonic extraction process based on extraction yield and purity of OA, The result showed that the best extraction condition was summed up as A3B3C1D1,temperature as 70℃, extraction time as 30 min, solid-liquid ratio as 1:10(g:mL),ultrasonic power as 300W.the yield was 14.491%,the purity was 12.885%.ThenOA was separated and purified by macroporous resin ,the type of macroporous resin and the concentration of eluate were chosed. The result showed that 95% ethanol as eluate and HPD100 macroporous resin was best,Finally,the elution rate was 87.40%,the purity was 69.75%.The preparation of tablet was studied by using ultrafine powder of fruits as raw material.The result showed that the best process parameter was summed up as A2B3C2D2:the amount of filler as 72%(Xylitol:sorbitol:maltodextrin as 3:3:1),the amount of Xuancheng Pawpaw ultrafine powder as 28%, the amount of moistening agent as 3.2 %, the amount of magnesium stearate as 0.8%. And the content of moisture was less than 9%; the total number of bacteria was less than 1000 per gram, the number of mildew, yeast couldn't exceed 100 per gram, E.coli couldn't be detected; the content of heavy-metal was less than10ppm, the content of arsenic salt was less than 2ppm.physical and microorganism indicators were in accordance with standard.The preparation of capsule was studied by using freeze-dried extract powder of leaves as raw material.The result showed that the capsule made from freeze-dried extract powder of leaves mixed with the starch to 1:18 plus 30% ethanol used to manufacture particles was the best system.And the content of moisture was less than 9%; the total number of bacteria was less than 1000 per gram, the number of mildew, yeast couldn't exceed 100 per gram, E.coli couldn't be detected; the content of heavy-metal was less than 10ppm, the content of arsenic salt was less than 2ppm.physical and microorganism indicators were in accordance with standard.
