Clinical Effect Observation Of Early Breast Cancer Treated With Breast Conserving Treatment

Objective:Comparison of breast conserving surgery and modified radical mastectomy in the treatment efficacy of early breast cancer, discuss the suitable treatment for early breast cancer.Methods:A retrospective survey of Guangxi Medical University Cancer Hospital of early breast cancer surgery cases from January 2004 to December 2007, divided into breast-conserving treatment and modified radical mastectomy group according to surgical methods, in which 36 breast-conserving treatment cases were secondary to postoperative radiotherapy, chemotherapy, systemic endocrine therapy, etc. In modified radical mastectomy group, 50 patients were supplemented with postoperative chemotherapy and systemic endocrine therapy. Compare the patients in the two groups according to age, tumor clinical stage, tumor size, histological type, axillary lymph node metastasis, hormone receptor ER,PR, postoperative complications, and survival time.Results:All cases were by telephone, followed up to March 2010, no one lost, follow time was 26 to 69 months. In BCT group 2 died,2 cases bone metastasis, 1 case had local recurrence in 23 months after surgery, one case occurred upper limb lymphedema and dysfunction, all patients had good wound healing, breast appearances were satisfactory. In modified radical mastectomy group, 2 patients died, 1 patient had axillary recurrence, 1 patient with lung metastases,2 patients with bone metastases. Postoperative upper extremity lymphedema in 2 cases,5 cases of wound healing. Conservative groups and modified radical mastectomy group, the 1,3,5-year cancer-survival rates were 97%,82%, 82%; 100%,98%,78%. Two groups of 1,3,5-year survival rates were 97%,93%,93%; 100%,100%,91%. no significant differences between survival curves. BCT group rated the cosmetic results were excellent in 19 cases, good in 14 cases,while in modified radical group, all suffering from lack of breast, do not form cosmetic effects, cosmetic effects BCT group more satisfactory than modified radical mastectomy group.Conclusion: Brease-conserving surgery supplemented by postoperative radiotherapy, chemotherapy, endocrine therapy can get the same effect compared with modified radical mastectomy, and can be keep women's sexuality, and can achieve more satisfactory cosmetic effect, improve the quality of life significantly. So early breast-conserving treatment is feasible.
