ObjectiveTo investigate the different influences of esmolol on center pulse pressure and mean arterial pressure in coronary heart disease patients with hypertension and hypertensive patients without CHD.Methods40 patients with hypertension who was completed coronary angiography, were divided into CHD group and Non-CHD group, according 1mg/kg intravenous bolus esmolol, injected within 30 seconds to complete, Followed by 0.1mg/kg/min intravenously for 5 minutes, administered before and 5 minutes later of administration, pressure sensors were used to measure ascending aortic pressure as the central arterial pressure, heart rate and recording pressure curves, and calculate the pulse pressure and mean arterial pressure.ResultsAfter treated with esmolol, the center mean arterial pressure in coronary heart disease patients with hypertension decreased 5.67±2.38 mmHg,in hypertensive patients without CHD decreased 4.88±1.92 mmHg(P<0.05).There are no significant change of center pulse pressure in both groups, and there are no statistically significant(P>0.05). ConclusionsEsmolol can decrease the central mean arterial pressure and other blood pressure indicators in coronary heart disease patients with hypertension, however, there are no difference compared with hypertensive patients without CHD. Central pulse pressure in both groups had no significant change.
