ObjectiveHemangioma is the most common benign tumor of infancy. The morphogical features is that endothelial cells excess proliferation and capillaries rapid growth. According to their molecular markers, growth characteristics and patient's age, it is usually divided into three phrases. That is proliferating hemangiomas (0~1 year old), involuting hemangiomas(1~5 year old) and involuted hemangiomas (5~10) year. Infantile hemangiomas are characterized by an inconspicuous appearance at birth, but undergo rapid and intermittent growth through the first year of life. By the age of 5 years usually 50% of the lesions have involuted. Although the infantile hemangioma contained the characteristics of self-limiting. However, some can develop rapidly, infecting, ulcers, necrosis, hemorrhage, secondary to severe deformity, dysfunction and so on. Infantile haemangiomas vary tremendously from small, benign growth to large, function threatening tumors. Most require no treatment, but treatment is needed if dramatic aesthetic, and/or functional impairment asvisual or airway obstruction or ulceration arises. Until now oralcorticosteroids are considered as first-line therapy for suchtroublesome and severe haemangiomas. Systemic steroids have proven effectiveness, but the risks of long-term and high dose use include growth disturbances and immune system dysfunction as well as ulcerations up to severe tissue loss. Moreover, there are cases of fast growing infantile haemangiomas which show no response to steroid therapy. Other therapeutic options as interferon alpha and vincristine are used less often because of side effects and toxicity. In cases of life-threatening haemangiomas and haemangiomatosis cyclophosphamide was also reported to offer promising results. Others therapy as follows:interferon, Bleomycin, sclerosing agents, anticancer drugs. laser, surgical treatment and so on. The treatment plan depends on many factors, including the size and extent of thelesion, social situations. and surgeon's comfort or experience with any given treatment modality. So clinicians thistly to search for infantile hemangioma mild side effects of drugs or treatment methods over the passed years, In recent years, Doctors have reported the successful application of propranolol treatment infancy hemangioma. The purpose of this study is to discuss the preliminary study the efficacy of infantile hemangioma, after the application of clinical cases analysis of propranolol.MethodCollected from July 2009 to February 2010, Shandong Provincial Hospital burn and plastic surgery outpatient clinics and wards in children with cases of proliferatting hemangioma. In the total 27 cases,21 cases smear the lesions with the propranolol,6cases are given oral propranolol, The partial measure and a means for observation of Color Doppler ultrasound,1 week for a course of treatment. To detect the Tumor children with the changes in tumorafter treatment in. At the same time monitoring the changes in heart rate and blood pressure before and after theament in childrenResultsThe following results obtained by this study.1 week after oral administration of propranolol,4 cases of children in the 6 cases of tumors smaller than before continuing proliferation or no further sustained hyperplasia (67%).1 case is continuing proliferation.1 case of the children with oral propranolol for heart rate and blood pressure decreased significantly after the termination of treatment.21 of exceptions Coated with the propranolol 2 weeks after propranolol in children, including 8 cases of the children (38%) have an sinifichancy effect and 10 cases of the children (48%) continue to grow five cases the tumor seen in children with tumor proliferation significantly slower than before.3 case (14%) is continuing proliferation. Conclution1,Propranolol in infants with proliferative stage have a certain inhibitory effect.2,Treated with propranolol formulations did not find significant side effects, but the effects are less obvious oral administration.
