Objective To explore the significance of contrasting analysis of the both renal hemodynamic indices in the patients with left renal vein entrapment syndrome(LRVES) by color Doppler ultrasonography. Methods We divided the patients into two groups, the LRVES group(45 patients) and the control group (28 patients). the LRVES group: men27,female18,the mean age was 11.7 (range4-27) years. the control group:men15,female13,the mean age was 13.4(range5-29) years. To measure the peak flow velocity(PV) of the renal portal vein ,the peak systolic velocity (PSV) and the end diastolic velocity (EDV) of the intrarenal artery(the main renal artery in the renal hilum, segmental artery), and the arterial resistance indices (RI) for the both kidneys of 45 cases patients with left renal vein entrapment syndrome and 28 cases healthy subjects by color Doppler ultrasonography. All parameters mentioned above were contrastly analyzed .Results 1,The respiratory changes in the left intrarenal vein with a low level spectral in the LRVES .2,The peak flow velocity of the intrarenal vein, the peak systolic velocity and the end diastolic velocity of the left intrarenal artery showed significant decrease and the left renal arterial resistant index showed significant increase comparing with the right kidney in LRVES(P<0.01).3,NO statistical differences were found between the corresponding parameters of left and right kidney in 28 cases healthy subjects(P >0.05).Conclusions In LRVES patients, the both renal hemodynamic indices obtained by Color Doppler ultrasonography were contrastly analyzed may be a useful method for observations on the changes of the renal hemodynamic indices and a additional parameter in the diagnosis of LRVES without hurt ,and providing valuable imaging data for detecting pathogentic condition.
