Objective:To compare the characters of cerebral vessels stenosis in ischemic cerebrovascular diseases patients accompanying with type-two diabetes mellitus of which the history was within 5-year using the technique of Computed tomographic angiography (CTA) or Digital subtraction angiography (DSA).Methods:73 ischemic cerebrovascular diseases patients with type-two diabetes mellitus and 85 patients without diabetes mellitus were checked by Computed tomographic angiography (CTA) or digital subtraction angiography (DSA). The characters of cerebral vessels lesions were compared in these two groups. Results:The rate of cerebrolvascular abnormality in the patients with diabetes mellitus (84.31%) was higher than that in the patients without diabetes mellitus (70.31%). The difference between two groups was statistical significance (X2= 5.692 P=0.017).The proportion of patients with multiple arteries stenosis in DM group(73.21%) was higher than that in NDM group(54.00%), especially the multiple arteries stenosis exist in both intracranial and extracranial vessels, the rate of multiple arteries stenosis which exist in both intracranial and extracranial vessels was 48.21% in DM group,24.00% in NDM group, the difference between two groups was statistical significance (X2=6.660 P=0.010). The rate of multiple arteries stenosis exist in both anterior circulation and posterior circulation in DM group(48.21%) was also higher than that in NDM group(30.00%), however the difference was not statistical significance(X2 3.891 P=0.143).The most common arteries invasived are ICA,VA,MCA,PCA in DM group, and VA,ICA,MCA,CCA in NDM group respectively. Moderate arteries stenosis were common in DM group, while slight arteries stenosis were common in NDM group. These differences in the two groups were not statistical significances.Conclusions:1.More extensive involved arteries were found in the ischemic cerebrovascular diseases patients with type-two diabetes mellitus compared to the patients without diabetes mellitus.2. The most common arteries invasived are ICA,VA,MCA,PCA in DM group.3. Moderate arteries stenosis were common in DM group.
