Objective:Evaluate the efficiency and safety of treatment to mild and moderate primary hypertension by the low-dose combination of benazepril and indapamide.Method:Eligible patients were randomly divided into two groups, the control group include 54 patients(benazepril 10mg/d),and the treatment group is 55 examples(benazepril 5mg/d and indapamide 1.25mg/d). If the effect of treatment was not good at the end of fourth week, they would be treated by doubling drug dose. At the end of the eighth week, the blood pressure, heart rate, biochemical indicator and side effect would be compare.Result:The total rate of antihypertensive in treatment group is 76.4% at the end of fourth week, and the control group is 51.9%. The difference had statistical significance between two groups after therapy (χ2=7.27, P<0.01). The total antihypertensive efficiency of the two groups in the eighth weekend are 92.7% and 77.8%, they have significantly difference (χc2=3.86, P<0.05).Compare the total efficiency of the control group in the eighth weekend with the total efficiency of the treatment group in the fourth weekend, The difference had not statistical significance between two groups after therapy (χ2=0.03, P>0.05). The rate of the curative effect in the control group is 25.9%,and the rate of the curative effect in the treatment group is 10.9%, They have significantly difference(χ2=4.10, P<0.05). and they have no significant effect on heart rate, blood glucose, total cholesterol, alanine aminotransferase, creatinine, uric acid and potassium(P>0.05).Conclusion:1.The low-dose benazepril and indapamide have the exact effect of decreasing the blood Pressure, The total antihypertensive efficiency is 76.4%.2. they have no significant effect on heart rate, blood glucose, total cholesterol, alanine aminotransferase, creatinine, uric acid and potassium.3.It is safe and reliable to treatment primary hypertension by the low-dose combination of benazepril and indapamide, and it has little side effect.
