Objective:Detecting the content of IL-6 and bFGF in the ischemic cerebral tissues to study the protective effect of Panax quinquefolium saponins (PQS) on cerebral ischemia in rats. Methods:In order to observe the neuroprotective effect of PQS on cerebral ischemia, the rats with incomplete cerebral ischemia were induced with fishing lines in the middle cerebral artery (MCA) and then were executed at 24h after cerebral ischemia. It was observed the effect of PQS on the changes of ethology and pathomorphology due to nerve injury of rats with MCAO. HE staining was used to observe the changes of histomorphology. The content of IL-6 and bFGF in the ischemic cerebral tissues were detected by the enzyme linked immunosorbent assay to explore the mechanism of treatment. Results:PQS could make obviously pathomorphology of cerebral ischemia better, improve change of ethology, inhibit the expression of IL-6 and bFGF after cerebral ischemic injury of rats. Conclusion:PQS had protecting effect on cerebral ischemia and the mechanism of PQS against cerebral ischemia is related to rising IL-6 and bFGF content.
